Once More With Feeling

I touch the fire and it freezes me. I look into it, and it’s black. Why can’t I feel? My skin should crack and peel. I want the fire back! Now through the smoke, she calls to me; to make my way across the flame. To save the day, or maybe melt away. I guess it’s all the same…
So I will walk, through the fire, ’cause where else can I turn? And I will walk through the fire, and let it…

Destruction sometimes is its own reward

That hurt, baby. Kinda liked it. How ’bout you? There’s my girl. Knew she was in there somewhere dying to come out and play again. I know how it feels. Forced to be someone you’re not. Hurts to the bone. You try to bury the pain, but you can’t get the hole deep enough, can you? No matter how much you dig, it’s still there. Broken shards stabbing every time you breathe, cutting you up inside. You know, there’s only one way to make the pain stop. Hurt someone else.

There’s no sacrifice too great for a chance at immortality

I was born when you kissed me. I died when you left me. I lived a few weeks while you loved me.

We never weren’t on Grease

I want you to listen to me. And believe this, because I mean it from the bottom of my heart. All romance ends in despair. Or death, but mostly despair. Gut-wrenching despair. And I’m-I-I hate to say this, but I’m actually happy that this happened because now you know. And it’s just going to make you a better cop to realize that all people are essentially just out there to destroy any chance of happiness you will ever have. [Long pause] I feel a hug coming on.

Dailies #61

“The last time a President got this much done, booze was illegal”.

After trashing Thurgood Marshall, Republicans Senators are asked to name a decision that best exemplifies his radical left-wing judicial activism. They cannot name one.

Lindsey Graham: “Where where you on Christmas Day when the Christmas Bomber was caught?” Elena Kagan: “Like most Jews, I was probably in a Chinese restaurant”.

President Obama, speaking truth to stupid: “I just want everyone to remember – we’ve tried the other side’s theories. We can return to what we know did not work, or we can build a stronger future”.

Bo-ring.

A Song of Ice and Fire. Wee!

Robert Harris – Pompeii (TP)
Edward Rutherford – London (HC)
Ken Scholes – Lamentation (HC)

Chris Wooding – The Weavers of Saramyr (HC)

S. M. Stirling – Ice, Iron and Gold (HC Night Shade Books)
Liz Williams – Snake Agent (TP NSB)
Liz Williams – The Demon and the City (TP NSB)
Walter Jon – Voice of the Whirlwind (TP NSB)
Patrick Rothfuss – The Name of the Wind (TP)

Do I listen to pop music because I’m miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Dailies #60

– Joe Abercrombie • Best Served Cold – pentru inceput ma simt nevoit sa mentionez ca eu iubesc revenge flicks – capodoperele fiind Once Upon a Time in the West, Kill Bill, Oldboy/Sympathy for Mr Vengeance/Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Le Samourai/The Killer, Point Blank/Payback, The Bride Wore Black, El Mariachi, Le Comte de Monte Cristo, Man On Fire si The Crow – asa ca voi avea o notabila inclinatie pozitiva. BSC, ca si KB, reprezinta cruciada sangeroasa a unei femei nedreptatite asupra fostilor colaboratori in crime. Trilogia First Law tocmai a intrat in wishlist.

Nip/Tuck (S6) – ultimul sezon. S-a terminat, in sfarsit. So long, serial killer haven.

Oh well, macar avem dvd-urile.

Stephen King – Misterul regelui. Despre scris
Peter F. Hamilton – Disfunctia realitatii
Dorothy L. Sayers – O moarte suspecta
Dorothy L. Sayers – Cinci piste false
